In addition, the committee works to ensure we are living out our mission statement as a church, working with the Reconciling Ministries Network, to maintain a church that is truly a sanctuary for people from all walks of life.
Church & Society Committee
The Church & Society Committee is committed to upholding our baptismal vows to resist evil, injustice, and oppression in whatever forms they present themselves.
The Committee meets monthly after church and organizes outreach, such as information tables for local events, movie showings/discussions, and special offerings for charities and organizations that work for justice and liberation.
The Committee closely follows the Social Principles of the United Methodist Church adopted by the General Conference, investing time and prayer in:
Civil and Human Rights
Economic, Health, and Gender Justice
Environmental Justice
Peace with Justice
United Nations and International Affairs
